This project is about polar opposites coming together in harmony. When me and my girlfriend were still together she was an aries (fire sign) and I am a cancer (water sign) so that's where I got the blue and red from, and my entire inspiration for this project. 

It didn't turn out exactly as I thought it would, and is a recovered project from last semester when I didn't have enough time or motivation to finish it. 

Making the piece was a challenge, I had to keep everything organized so that it would all fit together like I needed it to. I created the stencil and picked out the glass, picking lots of textures. Then I cut out everything and spent a night at the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy using their grinders to grind down the glass into smooth shapes. Then I wrapped each piece in copper foil and soldered them together. It was a newer medium to me which was challenging, but worth it.
